Tadaaa!

Ok so i know my blogging has been a tad hit and miss over this unit, and thats because to be compleatly honest i didn't enjoy doing it. Just the blogging i dont mean the unit! Im much more happy with the work in my Sketchbook and think thats going to say alot more about me than this! I did however enjoy this unit on the whole :)

After this i'll post my final piece and hope that everybody enjoys it :)
I dont imagin ill ever try and keep a blog again in my life so im fairly sure this will be the last you'll hear from me :)
However thankyou for the support and comments,

GOODBYE AND GOODLUCK

I saw this video and instantly thought 'this is how i could do project 3!' it would take alot of time and orgonisation but if i could create an original storyboard using the lightography in stop-motion format that's used in the last video i posted, i think it could turn out fantasticaly!

Lightography #2

I wanted to see what other people had done using light as a media sorce and came across this advert. I love the use of colour and the image's made are actualy realy simple but give an awsome effect. Something in this style could be quite intresting to use for part 3 of this unit, i was considering a stop-motion peice anyway so if i could incorporate this 'lightography' into it i think that could turn out fantastic.

Here's what happens when i have a free hour in my bedroom and nothing to write with =]

Taking insparation from my previous post of the Lady drawing with sand, i felt i needed to stretch my use of materials, and drawing with light has always been something iv been intrested in. Dispite being on a small scale, i set the shutter speed to about 15 sec's on my camera and went crazy writing things in the air. Creating single letters was only too simple.

I don't want to just leave this at a single project, i plan to experiment more with drawing in light on a larger scale as i think it gives a beautiful effect.

A little bit of WOW...

IF YOU GET A CHANCE TO WATCH THIS, DO IT!

I was looking into using a few diffrent media for both my Typography and my Self Portrait, so i started doing some reserch into diffrent materials i could use, and stumbled upon this fantastic woman, not only is she clearly talented, but her used of diffrent materials, in this case sand, is utterly brillient. i would recomend anybody reading this to give the video a watch, even if its not you cup of tea i might spark a few ideas of your own. Its realy got me thinking about stretching my limits beyond pen and pencil artwork.

Album covers

Thanks to Sleevage iv been looking at design elements from music album covers. This collection are some of the images that jumped out at me while browsing through, both for there design aspect, the typography used, or just the over all original, and cleaver feel to the cover.

For example, the artwork used on the Gallows cover, the purely artwork based cover of the shark in that fantastic original style makes any fan know THIS IS A GALLOWS COVER!!! so much so that there name isn't even printed on the front. To create a font that is this distinguishable means you have a truly great font.
Something like the font used for Star Wars or Indiana Jones would be a good example. It dosn't matter what you write in that font, people will be able to tell you were it originated from.

The weeks continue =]

Been having a pit of a play with my sketchbook this week but like the idiot i am iv gone and forgotten my memory stick containing pictures for class time, 10 points to Tom!
I have however had a very productive week. Getting lots of lovely ideas this week but mainly working from my common intrests and seeing how i could twist them into something a bit diffrent, more creative and to be honest just a tad
off the wall
!

I loooooove epic action shots, photos like these just contain so much energy
and character, if i could create a self portrait with the same feel and emotion behind it, i would call that a success any day.

Iv also been enjoying Graham Smith's musical photography. it contains such a diverse feel in the photos you cant not enjoy them, there's bound to be a photo you enjoy some were in this album :

However Im sure you've noticed that these photos, as good as they look, are hardly the most 'creative' out there, Im going to have to play... =]

It Begins...

Ok, so I actually did this the day of my first post, but my computer REALY doesn’t like uploading a post onto this blog L this is a problem…

‘Just finished my front cover for the sketchbook... yes i know its ONLY a front cover but every little helps right?

after a good hour of rummaging through magazines, flyers and the odd dominos pizza menu looking for the right sized letters, i had finished.

Yer it looks messy, but 'clean cut' sketchbooks are SOOOO over-rated.

My First Blog Post

Hay, This be Tom's blog, and what en exciting first blog it is!

Just a small warning for anyone venturing onto this blog... my spelling is BEYOND bad, i'm sorry for any stupid mistakes made throughout the blog :)

... i also use smily faces... a lot =]

Im starting this 'Creative Processes' unit thing in UNI, and aparantly i have to do this "Blog" thing. I HAVN'T DONE A BLOG IN MY LIFE! so this should be fun :)

I'v figured its just a chance for me to upload some of my homegrown photo's and films onto a site were people might actualy look and pay attention to them :)

As its a project about me, ill probably be uploading youtube video's, music tracks, and photo's i personly enjoy, find funny or just appreciate in a 'neardy' artistic way.

Starting with the reason i got into film, my WORD i love M.J's music videos, even if you don't appreciate the music, you HAVE to bow down before the music video's to go with them:

Give it a watch =]

And have a lovely day! i shall post a new message for you lovely people at some point soon

Tom
